In 1726, the Lily Miracle occurred in the parish church of Barweiler, where a withered lily in the hand of the statue of Mary revived and developed flower buds. The solemn opening of the pilgrimage season with a festive service in the pilgrimage church of St. Gertrud is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of this event.
