Fair trade in paradise
At the end of March 2025, Rev. Andreas Paul was on a study trip to the Dominican Republic with Fairtrade Germany. As spiritual director of the kfd federal association, he represents it at Fairtrade Germany. The kfd has been a member of Fairtrade since its foundation in 1992.
During this trip, Fr. Paul visited various cooperatives and got to know the people who benefit from Fairtrade. He was able to see first-hand how Fairtrade improves people's lives and the positive impact it has on the community.
The study tour provided a unique opportunity to see the work of Fairtrade in action and to understand the challenges and successes of the cooperatives. Rev. Paul will report on this at the event on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 7 p.m. and provide insights into the impact of Fairtrade.
The event is part of "Fair Trade Week", which takes place from September 12 to 26. Under the motto "FAIR HANDELN - Vielfalt erleben!" (FAIR TRADE - experience diversity!), numerous campaigns and events will be offered during this period on the topic of fair trade.
