St. Martinszug | Herschbroich

Traditional St. Martin parade where children and their parents walk with laterns along the streets, in front of them a man on horse who plays the roman soldier Martin who later became bishop of Tour (in France).

The torchlight procession in Herschbroich begins at the intersection in the town center—from there, the children accompany St. Martin with their homemade torches. The village is festively decorated with colorful lanterns hanging from the houses.
